GRANT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applying for a Grant

Eligible Applicants: In order to be eligible for a grant from the Foundation, an organization must be exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

How to Apply:

The Foundation trustees meet throughout the year to consider proposals as scheduled by the Board. Proposals should be scheduled to be received by the Administrator at least two weeks prior to a meeting. Please reach out to Harriet Donnelly at harriet@securehorizonsfoundation.org for inquiries about grant submissions and meeting schedules. All proposals should be emailed in PDF format to Harriet.

Action on grant proposals will be communicated by letter or email within thirty days following the Foundation Board meeting at which the proposals were considered.

List of Requisites for Applying for a Grant:

A grant proposal must be presented for consideration by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. The proposal must be in electronic form, signed and be completed by the organization utilizing the grant funds. All proposals must incorporate the following:

  • The formal name of the school or organization utilizing the grant funds.
  • Address
  • Telephone number / email address / website URL
  • Corporate Officer or specific contact person preparing the proposal.
  • Description of the school/organization
  • An overall “executive summary” as well as a complete description
  • The number of children who will benefit from the capital expenditure, safety training and preparedness and/or mental health consulting needs
    • Age brackets of the proposed students
    • Copy of IRS Tax Determination Letter issued to the organization/corporation.
    • A Certification Regarding “Terrorist Financing” executed by the chief corporate officer. (copy attached)
    • Copy of last audited financial statement of organization/corporation applying for the grant.
